It didn’t take long: I’ve literally only been able to get my ship out of the hangar a few times, but the ship upgrade grind is already over. I’ve built myself a superbly capable Core Dynamics Eagle already.
I’ve continued to hunt for WANTED status targets in the Zaonce system, and in the process of just a couple of hours last night made over half a million credits in bounties. I’m very happy with that!
Most of my claims so far have been against Cobra Mk III ships. My combat rating has risen to NOVICE during this process.
There were so many kills, a video would have been way too large. I quickly edited together a video that I find amusing, using some of the kills from last night.
My status in the Zaonce system is quite interesting; I have reached FRIENDLY status with Silver United Solutions, who appear to be the controlling faction in the system. I am still neutral with the Zaonce Jet Gang (local scum), but they seem to want to attack me on sight…
Anyway, I am quite torn now on whether to lend my services in what I think of as ‘moral warfare’. I have never really considered being a Mercenary before, but I have been reading GalNet News… The sick treatment both the major superpowers are handing down to uprisings are disgusting me…
I have a decision to make:
1. Stay out of it.
2. Join the Farmers under attack by the Federation.
3. Join the Slaves revolting against the Empire.
My first space game addiction was with David Braben's 'Frontier - Elite II' released in 1993 on the Commodore Amiga. This game actually gave me so much of what I wanted in a game that I continued to play it until the 'Elite - Dangerous' release in 2014.
I also played through the 'Wing Commander' series from Chris Roberts, enjoying them immensely. This led directly to my support of his 2012 crowdfunding campaign for the Star Citizen and Squadron 42 games that are still in development.
I use space games to try to escape from the pressures of real life. I occasionally upload or stream gameplay to YouTube and Twitch.
